Roger Svensk appointed new CEO of Weland Aluminium
On February 1, 2026, Roger Svensk took up his position as the new CEO of Weland Aluminium. He succeeds Peter Melldén, who during his many years in the role has played an important part in the company’s development.
When Roger Svensk was offered the position as CEO of Weland Aluminium, he didn’t need to reach for a map book as he had the first time he came into contact with Weland. That was when he was offered the role of CEO at Häfla Bruks in Hävla, entering completely unfamiliar territory. After spending several years elsewhere, he has now returned to the Weland Group.
Craftsmanship of Småland
The learning curve is shorter this time, as he already knows both the people and the culture within the Group. A culture he is determined to further develop at Weland Aluminium.
“Weland Aluminium has so many strengths. Above all, we have a product range that is aesthetically appealing, of high quality and highly circular. Our balconies can remain in use for 50 years, and when they are eventually dismantled, the aluminium is 100% recyclable.”
Going forward, the focus will be on investing even more in marketing to showcase the craftsmanship of Småland — but also the people behind the products.
“There is something special about the people of Småland. It comes naturally to them, but as someone from Östergötland, I see a clear difference. There is a sense of pride in their work and a strong feeling of being part of the company. That is something we need to build on and communicate,” says Roger.
Stronger together
Roger wants both the business and its people to grow. For him, this means strengthening the sense of being part of the Weland Aluminium family and increasing collaboration between departments, but also being a visible and engaged leader.
Every morning, he walks through the factory, says good morning to everyone and checks in on how they are doing and what is on the agenda for the day.
In his spare time, you will find him at the gym, out running or on the golf course. For Roger, exercise is a way of recharging his batteries and keeping up the pace. And that is certainly needed, as his weeks also involve quite a bit of travelling between the old country cottage in Gåvetorp and his home in Ljungsbro, where his children and grandchildren live.
A life involving many miles on the road, a fast pace and plenty going on — that is when Roger feels most at home.
